Waze is a navigation app. On the road you’re represented by little characters called Moods which were originally designed to represent how drivers feel while driving. Over the years, however, they shifted to represent how drivers looked. They went from meaningful expressions to meaningless avatars.
I designed 50 new characters to bring Moods back to the OG, with a reinvigorated design system and fresh strategic approach, to be used globally in their app and across all printed and digital communications.
